I have searched and haven't had any luck finding the answer. I see several posts on the KYB Monomax shocks paired with stock springs or OME stock height springs. Are the KYB Monomax usable for the OME medium 851/860 2" lift set-up? I plan on running 285/75-16 tires.

Monomax fronts (565026) have a compressed length of 13.98" and an extended length of 22.48"
Monomax rears (565027) have a compressed length of 14.25" and an extended length of 22.52"

OME fronts (60018) have a compressed length of 14.13" and an extended length of 24.29"
OME rears (60020) have a compressed length of 14.88" and an extended length of 24.61"

Thanks!

Also, reason I'm using Monomax is because I originally planned to use them with the OME "stock" springs but got a deal on a set of mediums.

The OME shocks are already too short with a 2" lift. I had them on my 2.5" lift (heavies up front and mediums out back)and they kept bottoming out on me on the trail. Going with a shock that is 2" shorter then that is going to get you zero down travel. At ride height those shocks are going to be almost fully extended. Any type of off camber situation and your tires are just hanging in the air due to the shocks being too short. I know because that is the situation I had with the OME shocks. For a 2" lift you want a shock that is 24-26" in length fully extended front and rear. I'm sure there are guys that will argue with me but those are the guys that aren't flexing their suspension. Stay on the fire roads and you may never notice the shortness of the shocks. Get yourself on the rocks and you will get REAL tippy REAL quick. If you can't keep all 4 tires sitting on the ground then the big rocks get really scarry to climb over. Pucker time!!

Here's what I have found, extended short to tall:

Monomax fronts - 22.48"
Factory - 22.50"
Skyjacker M95 fronts - 22.63"
Skyjacker Nitro 8000 fronts - 22.63"
Rancho RS9000 fronts - 23.34"
Rancho RS5000 fronts - 23.38"
OME 60018 fronts - 24.29"
Pro Comp ES9000 fronts - 24.84"
Slee fronts - 26.20"
OME 60070L fronts - 26.30"
TJM XGS fronts - 26.38"

Those are all the extended lengths I can find with two or three hours of searching. I think I'm going to put the Monomax on Ebay. I have seen people using the Rancho 9000s, I may go with those or the TJMs.

26" extended length is the perfect length for a 2-3" lift. The 22" Monomax shocks are way too short. Those are too short for a stock height set up.

After doing some pricing and reading reviews, I like the Fox 2.0 smooth body set-up. I like that they are rebuildable for a reasonable amount as well. Will probably get them. Part #'s are 985-24-073 (rear) and 985-24-070 (front). $480 for the set is very reasonable. Thanks!

Bought the Fox 2.0s - got them from DownSouth for $460 shipped. Can't say enough good things about their customer service so far!
