    SOLD, thanks BVCOTaco!

    1996 Toyota Land Cruiser
    228xxx Miles
    Front and rear axle E-lockers
Center differential lock with pin-7 mod
3rd row seats (fully removed but all hardware included)
Port of entry installed Rostra alarm/keyless entry
    Optional dash mounted cup holder

The good: No major problems to speak of. I have been driving this truck nearly every day since receipt of ownership in 2010 and it has been nothing but reliable and an outstanding vehicle. The interior is fairly clean given the age and has been non-smoker vehicle.

The bad: it's dented, dinged, scratched, and used like it should be. Mechanically it has some minor issues that will need to be addressed like the front crank seal/oil pump o-ring leak, rear main or possibly pan leak, and LSPV leak (slight leak when fully flexed). It throws a P0420 code every once in a while due to the high flow/low profile cats and will not pass CO emissions standards with the current cats according to the emissions facility as they are not efficient enough. Some blue smoke is noted on startup and is a common occurrence with these trucks. Interior wear items are typical for this truck such as slow windows, driver side seat that doesn't move ( Gamiviti gears included), cracked leather, some small tears here and there, glove box door that flops open, etc etc.

History: Purchased from a fellow Land Cruiser enthusiast bone stock and was a Colorado truck previously.

I am offering this truck for sale to move up to a GX470 or 100 series. My family has evolved and we simply don't go wheeling like we used to, I have also acquired a 40 series that will be the play truck from here on out. I am sure I am forgetting some things but the bulk of it is listed. As the weather improves I will be working on some of the items that need addressed and will update the thread as it happens. Is the market going soft on 80's or is the price too high?

Really nice truck but I think you're priced a little high. Also, not being able to pass emissions is going to be an issue for a lot of people.

FWIW, the prices seem to be dropping on the 80s and 100s considerably lately. You're in the 100 price range right now. Most of the 80s I have seen are around the 5-6k mark even with some substantial mods.

    Edit: 100 Series for $8000...

Yeah I probably should clarify on the emissions, since "Clean Air Colorado" took over emissions (we wen't without emissions for quite a while) they put such strict requirements on vehicles that many people have a hard time passing. My truck just barely wouldn't meet their required numbers for the production year. It's really insane, the numbers my 96 is supposed to meet are far more stringent than anything around in 1996 when the truck was designed. I would venture to guess this vehicle will pass emissions in probably any other state aside from California and Colorado.

Here are a bunch of pictures I uploaded this morning:

Atlanta is the same way. If it has a CEL or stored code from a previous CEL it's automatic fail. They also measure the tailpipe emissions depending on year. It would most likely need a cat to pass here.

I know they used to. Been a while since I had to do one like that. All of our vehicles lately have been too old or too new to have to do that test! 96 and up (OBD2) is auto fail for the CEL and I think no sniffer. Pre-96 is NOT auto fail for CEL (I think...) and they do use the sniffer. I haven't seen any of those rolling dyno testers in a long time so I guess they don't do those anymore.

Price drop to $8000, I don't think I will go any lower.

I found the emissions paperwork, it blew a 5 on Nox on the dyno and max is 3.5, it is not too far off.

Just found that we will be moving to Michigan in October, I will drop the price to $7500 if it sells before I move and that is the bottom line.
