Up next is the front steering link with 1 ton TREs and nice thick DOM tubing, also I will rebuild the steering box while im there. My last leak to fix.

So after researching for over a year my patience has worked in getting it right, so i think, on purchasing and installing LED bulbs for the headlights. I found a set that seem to fit the bill just right. I got 2000lm each bulb and no external driver needed. These are internally fan cooled and use 2 CREE-XM-L2 LED's per bulb so there is coverage inside the entire housing. The 9006 halogen is about 1850lumen so I wanted close and this is close and a slight bit brighter.

$60 set

I found that these are IP67 rated which means;
"Ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1 m of submersion)". and "No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact (dust tight)"

Also I started the truck with them on and unlike the halogen they don't dim the slightest if you crank the engine with them on.

They were packaged well and came in a foam type of wrap which was tough to get open but served its purpose.

The locking tabs are smaller and i thought they wouldn't work but they do fit after a little jiggling and the plug will be facing down and at bout the 5 o'clock position. I tugged and wiggled and felt no freeplay so it seems to fit nicely.

Drivers side. note the plug wire position. The passenger side fits perfect ly behind the overflow bottle with about 1/2" to spare.

Difference between the standard and LED, It really makes a hug difference. Street signs glow and I can see every bump in the road.

Installed rear door speakers. I used the same Infinity 6-3/4" speakers as the front door speakers but didn't put them in the factory cutout I put them in the service port on the lower left and right below the OEM cutout since they were too deep. I also Peal and Sealed the doors and as you can see I have to cover the OEM speaker holes. Might just use some type of carpet that matches the door carpet stuff on there now.

So my system is done and now onto the steering box rebuild and install new DOM tubed steering link with 1ton Ball Joints. Gonna be a lot of work but fun :p

Okay so I have been busy, all the way up to 8pm tonight. Been installing something I wanted for a long time....an OBA system!
This took a lot of research and it was well worth it. I used the following parts. and I still have to clean up wiring and put in a proper switch. Also weight was a big factor and I was able to get the entire setup just under 20 pounds!

Compressor; VIAIR 444c (this is usually in a 2 pack but there are vendors who sell just the one) Best part it's 100% duty cycle. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NQEN0DG/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_3p_dp_1#productDetails

Tank; Aluminum 5 gallon, 5 ports 200psi max continuous hold at 200psi, 12pounds. http://amzn.com/B00CKWFAY2

Pressure Switch and Relay; I found this all in one relay/Pressure switch from VIAIR, makes everything much cleaner looking without a bunch of wires all over the place. http://amzn.com/B002OFSASS

Safety Valve; VIAIR 205 PSI pop http://amzn.com/B004XH6FBO

Inflator valve with gauge; ARB with a locking valve stem capture, no holding a ball chuck anymore :p http://amzn.com/B0036ULEV0

Here are some pics. It is quite messy looking for now. I mounted the tank under my platform just behind my tool drawers, the size was a perfect fit all around. Also you will see the Pressure Relay, and on the other end the in and out air hoses.

So i finished the install. Just need to put a switch up front. I have been trying to figure out there to put the male connector and I ended up using the bottom of my platform frame and routed the hose to the tank. Works great.

Excellent write up and super creative. Thanks for sharing. What color and type of paint on the wheels, and more details of the rear view mirror turn signal mod please.

Thanks for the kind words! The paint is Duplicolor Graphite with Duplicolor clear. If you use it follow the directions exact, rushing it will not produce good results. As far as the LED mirrors I will NEVER do that again. Not only did I put in indicators but mirror defrosters as well. But to do this you have to carefully remove the silver on the back of the mirror in the shape of the LED you put in.

So I finally put in a proper switch for my OBA setup! Found it here ;

http://your4x4store.com/product/ch4x4-rocker-switch-air-compressor-symbol-horizontal/

Had to file down some of the plastic around the inside edge of the switch hole. Fit tight, not going anywhere. Illuminates with the parking lights, and the compressor symbol lights when compressor is on. Nice switch for $16

I like this mounting solution Steve. Which quad lock mount did you get? It looks like the self adhesive one.

Yeh it is the adhesive mount and the ram mount has a stud for a camera but all i did was use a tap to tape the hole from the back of the mount to match the thread of stud removed the 3m tape and spun it on, that puppy isn't coming off :)

Thanks, i waited for a quick removal and attachment solution and I puled the trigger on this and it really is the best mount I have ever had.

I have been looking for mounting solutions for my phone and tablet for awhile now...everything has drawbacks. This one looks good. Thx

MO problem, happy to help!

So I had a decision to make. I either replace the bottom panel vinyl with new, $$$ or use the tailgate carpet which is an exact match and replaced with rubber matting 2 years ago, well I used the carpeting from the tailgate and it came out okay, I didn't realize the instantanious bond the spray glue had and a ended up with a wrinke that I had to try and fix. The other side should be just right when I get a chance to do it. I did this because i mounted the speakers in the rear door in the service port not the OEM location.
