Taking a little drive in the Jemez tomorrow Sunday 8/28.
Meet 8am at the warrior 66 in Bernalillo (the smaller one on the northbound side of 550). I will leave there at 8:10.

Going up the road Frank and Larry guided us down last weekend. Mild road though bumpy, and could get interesting if it rains a lot.
I gotta be back in burque by 5ish so there's that.

I'm definitely in. See you 7:45 - 0800.:bounce2:

Mike_AZ, Dumpolina, and I had a great foray into the Jemez Mountains. We had light rain, some mud, LOTS of rock and dust, too.
The only carnage was a passenger side mirror that was a victim to age and gravity and fell off. Good times were had exploring!

I just wanted to echo the sentiments above and contribute a few pics of todays adventure. Given that I had not afforded my fj40 any real exercise in some time, I was delighted to participate with several well-equipped drivers. I especially wanted to thank Grant for leading the trip, which not only offered great views, but was spot-on appropriate for my unlocked, stock-height fj40.

Mike, Chris, thanks for coming along. Great to share a perfect day in the hills.
Very cool to watch these two different yet genetically linked rigs make short work of some poor roads.
When it snows a little, I'd sure like to see where that spur road just after gilman ends up.

With this little drive I managed to get on the dirt every weekend in August, which sorta makes up for just getting dirty here and there the previous 8 months of the year.

ps next time I'll bring my green Toyota

Grant, was that lunch spot the same one we ate at last weekend?
