IMAGES and ATTACHMENTS
IH8MUD firmly believe that ALL uploaded files should be free to all to view and there are no limits to Guests. Additionally, we believe that externally hosted files are a terrible idea, since links often break or get changed. As a result, attachment space is UNLIMITED to all users. ALL! Please PLEASE do not link your images from Facebook, DropBox, Photopost, Imageshack or some other photo hosting location...there is nothing more frustrating than going back to an old thread from a few years back and finding those important photo links broken... STOP THE RED X's!!

First off, 'MUD is run as a sole dictatorship...I'm 99.999% easy going, as most folks will attest, but there are a 'few' things that drive me nuts.
Cyber Bullying - Will result in your account being banned, immediately.
NEW to forums?
There are 3 horizontal lines next to the forum logo (upper left) - this opens the mobile menu. Click your Avatar (upper right) to edit your preferences. The Envelope next to that is your Conversation Inbox. LEAVE CONVERSATIONS is the action needed should you find your inbox full. "Forums" is how you access the main home Tech pages, or by clicking the IH8MUD logo in the menubar.

IGNORE FEATURE
Every user on this site can be "ignored" (except me!)...so if you find someones content or attitude to be more than you want to handle, you are encouraged to simply place them on your IGNORE list. Simply click a username, and the Membercard that pops up will include the Ignore option.
Group Memberships:
Some Clubhouse areas require permissions from the Group Manager. Contact the Club moderator and they can provide access. For the Chat subforums, simply check on/off your access in your Preferences .
Signature Lines:
There's a place for lots of things on the forum, but please PLEASE remember that anything in your signature line is seen throughout. Please refrain from placing quotes or information in your sig line that will generate a negative response from the other members. Sig lines have size limit, this isn't a space for a short story on every rig you own...great spot to link to your build thread however

Like every business, IH8MUD has legal and privacy policies that are expected to be read, understood and followed by all visitors to this site. Please take the time to review these policies. Cursing!! Yeah, some people do....and as I've always said, it can be occasionally appropriate! Profanity is automatically disabled on the site. If you continually try to bypass this filter, you may find your account banned.
NWS/NSFW RULE! (Yes, this warrants it's own link!) Simply put, non-work-safe/soft-porn images are not welcome. There are plenty of other sites for it. Kids frequent the site, adults may have their young children on their lap and advertisers want their products represented on pages without NWS content.
Avatars must be FAMILY SAFE, pics in your profile must also be FAMILY SAFE, pics in the Tech sections musts be FAMILY SAFE and all photos posted in Chat or sChat must follow the NWS/NSFW rule. Not sure what it is? Search a bit, or push the limits....if you get banned, then you'll know the line. (I set the line...there isn't much tolerance on this one...it keeps getting pushed, so try me.)
Paid Subscriptions: Recurring Paid Subscriptions are great for those who know they plan to support the site long-term, but if you change your mind someday, there are instructions on how to un-sub via Paypal

UserGroup info:
- SPAMMERS: For obvious reasons, the site is aggressive regarding SPAM. ALL new members have their first few messages monitored, and if you include a link it will automatically end up in the MODERATION que or blocked from being sent...the que is checked regularly, but please be patient. Additionally, some username/location combinations are automatically flagged by the SPAM filters upon registration, and may require admin approval.
- Unregistered/Guest: Unless you register, you can't post...but you can browse the forum without limitation. You also see ALL the advertising. Ads are tiered by usergroup, and as you move thru the various User Group stages, you will see less and less ads.
- Noobies: Once you've registered, you fall into the 'noobie' category, and remain here until you posted publically. Participate, and you'll move up quickly. Limits are in place for the Inbox/Conversations, signature lines, etc.
- 5+ Regulars: Obviously, you have a few posts and are on your way to being a contributing member. Additional forum permissions open up.
- 500+ Club: Once you top 500 posts, you can personalized your user title, plus a few other features.
- Silver Star Banner: $20 a year as a support for the forum (NO mobile advertising!) Join Here! We hope you appreciate the site and show your support
- Gold Star Banner: Identical status to the Silver Star, but a few folks have asked for recognition for a greater donation to the site. Join Here!
- Red Vendor Banner: For our great bunch of supporting Vendors...these are the experts in the field with the products and knowledge to help...they support us, I hope you support them! Vendors Market
- Moderator Banner: Our esteemed crew of Tech Moderators...they manage the Vehicle FAQ's and are the daily glue that helps keep the forum friendly and the Tech Threads on track!

- Chat - There is a Chat section for Chat, or you can Chat all you like in your clubhouse. Keep it out of tech and out of classifieds. sChat is for 'off color' discussions, etc....you'll catch on, and if your Chat thread disappeared, it's likely been moved to sChat.
- Politics - Find another website. Period. Tolerance on this is short and swift.
- Tech - obvious....ask a question, provide an answer...'search noobie' is NOT an answer unless you also perform the search, show how you found the answer, and answer the question. Little I hate more than 'search noobie'.

- Clubhouse - Looking for local sources or info? Maybe a local group to wheel with? --> Clubhouses - https://forum.ih8mud.com/categories/clubhouses.144/
- Vendors/Businesses - There is a Vendor corner for our great supporting Vendors Supporting Vendors Market - https://forum.ih8mud.com/categories/supporting-vendors-market.338/ ---and while I love project builds, but unless you are a Supporting Vendor, please sell your wares in the Merchandise Storefront in Classifieds - this FREE corner is specifically for small business to get started. DO NOT post in general Classifieds either. Oh, and answering a Tech question with 'buy this' isn't an answer, it's soft selling, and I don't like it. - PLEASE remember, this is a worldwide audience, and "humor" doesn't always translate well over a keyboard and computer screen. There are a lot of "keyboard kowboys" anymore, and those attitudes are not welcome here.

- 'THREADS' are the public discussions...to start one of your own, select the forum section relevant to your question and click the Start New Thread link. NOTE that the Vendor-only sections are for VENDORS to start threads. Please pay attention to where you are trying to post
- Want to respond to an existing question/thread? Use the 'Quick Reply' box at the bottom of each thread page...there are many automated options, like attachments, links and text enhancements.
- "Attach File" is what's used to upload and attach jpg, gif, png, pdf, and other files to your posts....maximum of 5 per reply.
