while beginning to replace my old ignition switch i noticed it has 4 wires coming off of it. haynes says they are acc, am, ig, and start now the problem comes with my generic replacement switch which only has three terminals batt, ig, and start. is it possible to run with just three terminals or should i just bite the bullet and get an official toyota replacement ($89 or something crazy like that) thanks for any help

i have the stock f engine and stock distributor and what not

IIRC, you should be able to wire up the acc and ig to the same terminal. With the switch you bought, you just wont be able to turn the key backwards and run accessories like the radio with power to the ig system off like you used to.
