When I first start the engine after sitting a while in temps below 50*F, the engine will rev to around 1800 rpm then slowly idle down to 600 rpm as it warms up. The initial 1800 rpm seem too high to me. What are other's experiences?

Other than the high initial idle, all appears well. No engine codes. All is stock except PAIR was removed. All vacuum hoses are in place. This is a '94.

That is normal.

Normal/same here.

Thanks for the replies. One less thing to fix!

Normal...even in Southern California! :)

Similar for mine but not quite as high - about 1200 this fall when it;s 30-40 degrees F, then goes lower pretty quickly. The colder it gets, the higher the rpms, but I don;t remember ever hitting 1800. This is a 1997 model.

Too high. I checked mine today just for this thread! In the 40's mine starts @ ~1,100-1,200 rpm then settles down to ~600 after it warms up a bit.
