Well... I dropped my gearbox off for a rebuild and will pick it up tomorrow morning.

Since I have 44 somewhat dismantled, I decided to go ahead and drain the brake fluid and replace my soft brake lines with new hoses, supplied by @beno (thanks Onur!!).

I used my mighty Harbor Freight bleeder and drained the two reservoirs and then started opening the wheel bleeders to suck the fluid out of the lines... when I got to the passenger-side front bleeder, I found I couldn't crack it open. When I took a closer look, I realized that someone had cross-threaded the bleeder.

It took me well over an hour to finally extract the bloody bleeder!! And it no longer resembles it's former self... I went to O'Reilly's and they will have a new for me in the morning.

So, in the morning, I'll take my Tundra to O'Reilly's and then on to East Las Vegas, to pick up my gearbox and back home to try to get 44 back together, before Gunner has a meltdown!!

Update:

I have my gearbox back - it only needed re-sealing - I am awaiting delivery of a new rag joint, then I can put my power steering back together.

The new brake bleeder valve is installed, brake fluid was drained, soft brake lines were replaced, new fluid and brakes bled - may have to re-bleed once I am able to drive it again.

Well, to finish this thread... My re-sealed gearbox is back in and all is good again, with my power steering!!

If anyone wants a recommendation for a re-seal or re-build specialist, PM me. They are here in Vegas and will accept out of town business. You would just call them first and arrange to ship, your box to them. $140-200... $140 for re-seal and thorough inspection; $200 for re-build.

EDIT: ...and I should have said @redrock put me onto them - Thanks again!!
