Heat Shield Hood Insulation (1 Viewer)

I have contacted a few people that are parting out their 80 series about this foam insulation underneath the hood.

Any chance any of you SoCal peeps near San Juan Cap have this foam insulation/ shield available by any chance.

Mine is looking pretty bad after a few critters decided to feast on mine near the bottom center. Not cool because now it sags.

Not sure if they are available at Toyota. It may be a pretty penny too much. I have sourced one from forum member Deathvalleypaul. May be picking it up Saturday morn.

just curious, why would you want the under hood insulation, wouldn't it just make the engine compartment hotter? Or is it for insulating against the heat from the sun?

It's to insulate the heat of the motor from that paint on the hood.

Got the samples and it looks like good stuff. I no longer have any of the clips or oem hood heat shield and was wondering if the factory clip are long enough to hold either of the products in. Also, what do you recommend being used to protect the edges?

lots of different choices...
I used some foil tape for sealing HVAC tubes on mine when i cut in the louvers, it's still sticking...
