Has anyone used quiet crap from Cruiser Crap?

How did it work?

Anyone know how it ranks compared to Dynamat Extreme?

Anyone know who makes it?

Thanks

Bloke i was talking to said it was crap!

Happy new year:beer::beer::beer:

Not sure who the other fella was talking to but I've used it myself in a Diesel 60 series and it is a stellar product. It significantly reduced vibration, road noise and heat transfer. I combined it with some acoustic absorbing foam from McMaster Carr as well to kill even more road noise.

Here is my post on it:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/325893-sound-deadener-install-w-pics-diesel-wow.html

There has been a ton on the forums recently regarding QC - use the advanced search function and you'll see them in the 60 series as well as the 80 series forums in the past week - week and a half.

Here is one that is good - but read all the posts as it is informative without being conclusive - i.e. a lot of opinions that you'll have to weigh out on your own:

There are also some good threads on it relative to Dynamat - long story short: Lot's of "tech" reasons why Dynamat is superior but no one who has used both DM extreme and QC seem to notice a huge difference - especially considering the price.

So, long story short: I've used it. I loved it. I'd buy it again.

I have put it in my 80. Made a noticable difference.

I am awaiting a sample from Cruiser Crap of the Quiet Crap. Upon sample review and based on the price, I am likely going to go with the Quiet Crap.

Mark is a great guy I dont think he would rip anyone off. Mike

Oh I hear you I don't think it's a rip at all I think he provides great products and service. I just have an opportunity to get Dynamat Extreme at a great price. It's not as great of a price than Mark's but I really only want to do this once and want the best results.

Thanks,
G

G,
You might look into shipping rates and factor that in. I charge a flat fee, but to where you are, I might have to charge a little extra. All these products are heavy! So if you can find it locally - Dynamat, then I would think hard about using any product that has to be shipped to you. Good luck!

OK - that is funny.. All my stuff is crap, but if your serious, back it up a little.

Samples went out today, and my offer is open to anyone who needs one, just PM me.

There is a very good discussion on the 80's forum:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/298111-dynamat-alternative.html

No im not serious,i just found the wording funny,no harm intended, and i reckon dynamat is overpriced,i wish we had a few alternatives down under cause im about to buy some for my rig and dynamat seems to be the only deadener available?

Don't know about his Quiet Crap (but I am thinking of doing my rig and using his product) but the rest of Mark's Cruiser stuff is great. My wife absolutely loved the pink cruiser shirt I gave her for christmas I got from him.

i've got mark's stuff on my doors and cargo area (floor and panels). i've still got a roll ready to do the passenger area floorboard for maximum effectiveness, but so-far-so-good. i've been very pleased, and for the price, you can't beat it.

as for a comparison between mark's and dynamat, i can offer this: i bought a bulk-pack of dynamat and lined the doors of my old volvo 240 several years ago. maybe the volvo was just a louder car, but there's no comparison between how quiet my volvo got and how quiet the land cruiser has gotten. and there's no way i'd ever spend the kind of money dynamat wants now that i've gotten ahold of mark's quiet****.

if you have any questions, PM him or give him a call. he knows his stuff and is a long-time mud guy and mud vendor. he won't (and, frankly, can't afford to) steer you wrong.

I just got my truck back from Landcruiser Specialist here in Austin. The lined my entire truck with Mark's quiet crap. All I can say is WOW! Before, I kept the radio turned up to drown out the road noise. That meant having a conversation was a screaming match in order to talk over road noise and the radio. Now, the radio is a pleasant level and my wife and I can have a normal conversation. In fact, my 87 Slow Mover is more quiet then her 2010 Honda CR-V. She has asked can we buy more Quiet Crap and have her car done....Yeah right honey.

A must buy for anyone looking to do this mod. Mark is selling a quality product.

While I am plugging...Land Crusier Specialist over the past two weeks has installed a new OME lift, H55f tranny, clutch, quiet crap and new carpet. Edwin works fast at a reasonable rate. Highly recommend him for anyone in the Austin, Tx area needing work done on their truck.

Happy New Year folks.

hey, i saw your truck at land cruiser specialist yesterday -- or, the day before, i guess. that's a great looking 60!

Dealing with mark is a pleasure!

I have two big projects at the shop both of which will require sound deadener. Having read some of the reviews from end-users, I'll definetly go with QC.

Besides, I'd rather spend my money with somebody in our little community than with somebody I don't know.

Amen Brother!! I want to keep my $$$ here on this forum as well thanks for all great feedback!!!!

Just placed my order for 100 feet of Quietcrap and looking forward to a quieter ride!

I've put it in one door (PS/FR), all of floor, wheel wells, rear 1/4 panels and rear door on my 1998 80. Pleased with the results so far (still have to finish other 3 doors). I've used 2 rolls of 50sq.ft and will likely need another chunk. Mark only does the large size.
Its the same stuff as Rumble Mat but half the price.
The door made quite a difference to the music 'sound'.
I;ve also added REflextic (from Lowe's) as a 2nd shield (not in the doors) .
