Glow Plug Conductor Rail Rusting (1 Viewer)

The metal rail connecting all of the glow plugs in my 2H is rusting and I suspect it may be causing resistance, should I sand it back and paint it or will paint also cause resistance?

I figure I should probably paint everywhere except where the glow plugs make contact?

Its unlikely that surface rust will cause any increase in resistance.. but pull it off, sand it back and refit some shrinkwrap or something..
