front axle swap (1 Viewer)

Hello all, I got a good deal on a front axle off a '70 FJ40(had minitruck disc conversion and a locker). I got everything hooked up and it stops nice and straight now but I have one problem. I can't get my front driveshaft to hook up. Where i'm supposed to bolt the driveshaft to the thingy(don't know the name) coming out of the diff the holes are just a little off. Just wondering if anybody knew what i should do? Can i take the thing off my '72 axle and swap them? Any special way on how to do that?

What I did was rotate the flange 45 degrees and drill new holes. The other thing you can do is find a later drive shaft, split them at the slip joint and put them together.

or, since they should both be coarse spline pinion flanges, just switch them.
