I got a Christmas present!

And they look good, read your post in the 60 section. Kevin this is truly an awesome product. Thank you again, Oh and this time the T-Shirt was obvious maybe in the future I should have some one else unpack all my stuff. LOL Doc

Glad you found your shirt this time!

And Beans, happy christmas. :p
Way to jump right on the instal.

Here is the first independent instal thread care of MagicBeans:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/683546-wagon-gear-windows.html

Now Doc, what's the time-frame for you and Marshall on the windows?
Beans is thinking that he wants the above the taillight actuators as well and I want to make sure they work before making another set.
I figured you guys would make a good guinea pig, not that you are going to be any help, but with Marshall involved at least I know there is one full brain on the job. :flipoff2:

Truck is at the brain as I type, don't know his completion expectation ,however I have done my part it's at his shop now. Maybe he will post up some photo's of the install as he goes but if not I will post up and give a report on the actuator when I get it back. Should not be too long. I did however have enough working neurons to order this fine product:flipoff2: Hope everything is wonderful in your world. Doc:cheers: According to Marshall looks like it will be going in this week or early next week. And he said that if he could he would post up some install photo's in the 60 section. See Ya!!!:D

Should be done by tomorrow. Should have the cable knocked out as well. Great product. My only complaint is the anti seize. You got way to happy on that stuff. Lol

Brake cleaner!

I know though, it's imperative that they have some seize compound on the studs, I've been trying to find some little tubes of anti-seize to send with them, but even then, I'm not sure I can trust all my customers to actually put the stuff on the studs. :p
You would be surprised to see what people leave out during instals. :bang:
:D

Glad the main part installed well so far though!
It's a complicated set up, but everything seems relatively logical in the end.

Marshall just sent me a video of the install and the action of the actuators and it looks good. Can't wait to try it out myself. :)

Beans I have not got to use the actuators yet but Marshall (Trollhole) did a wonderful job on the install and video. Hope that addressess your questions. Kevin Thanks again for another wonderful product.

The only issue I had was getting the big nuts on the locks tight. There is really no room for a hand in there much less a wrench. I ended up making my own wrench for it. Even then it took 30 min per side to get them tight. I put a bunch of locktite on them to keep them from getting free. That being said its a slick system and the design is second to non. Awesome product.

Thank you Kevin for the design and making the things, and thanks to Marshall for bending his knuckles on the install. Great guys both of ya!!! Now as I have had an opportunity to try the actuators I can think of no down side other than the tight quarters for that single nut install. These rock as they are, quite nice for sure Thanks again and I can post up some more pic's but there seems to be plenty already. Have a great life out there in wild west I can't think of a thing else you could come up with to get me to invest again. My truck is a rollin showcase for Wagon gear now. (Kevin think of it as a challenge what else will doc fall in love with for his cruiser. ) LOL gone.

OH you will have to see my fancy heat shield that Trollhole designed and installed , biker flames and all. Bye

Hey Kevin i love the flip up windows they are awesome! being in Australia and shipping being so expensive!! i was wandering i you had cad drawing of the windows you are making for the 80 series. im only after a drawing of the outer frame as i want to make the opening smaller and put a lockable fill point, and tap for my water tank and just have two T handle latches to lock the smaller window. my pic is sort of what i want to do but on the other side of the truck
Cheers Mate

I know where you are coming from with the shipping Ben, but CAD stuff in general stays with me.
I go to lengths to post and share info with the cruiser community (at least I think I do :p) by posting how-to threads, sharing techniques, designs, sources, methods, etc. I post part numbers for the products I use, I even sell some of the specialized hardware that I get in at cost to help with other's projects.
But not CAD. That stuff is not a knowledge or a skill, it's a tangible product, and one that takes many more hours than even building the actual item.

In this case if I were just building one unit, it would be much easier to just trace a template and cut the material by hand, I wouldn't even consider going through the effort to digitize it all.

Hi Kevin

Any thoughts of a set for the 100 series? Would love a set with flat aluminium sheet instead of glass.
Also what sort of dollars are you talking for these?

cheers

I am part way through building something similar to what you have developed but with now where near the Polish and definition you have come up with over the past few years. I have been trolling the Internet for years to find a product for Troop carriers and resigned myself to having to build something myself. When I came across your site i think I found the holy grail of 4wd cool stuff. I have had a troop for 10+years and don't see this changing for many years to come. There appears to be a big demand for these down in Australia. I would be really keen to work with you to develop this product further in the Australian market. Sent you a PM if you don't mind having a look. I have read through all 17 of threads on development and installation and think you are on a major winner here with pricing very reasonable.

To start, this is still my favourite shot o
Kevin - I am a V8 troopie owner with almost every after market add on available, both off the shelf and many home made custom items. A window like yours is one item on my wish list I have never been able to fulfill. This is my kind of porn - 4wd porn. I must have one! !!
