I missed this until now. First three minutes are in my back yard. At the north end of Oak Creek Canyon the highway turns to switchbacks to get out of the canyon. Back in the early seventies I lived in Flagstaff and would drive down to Oak creek to trout fish. Mid seventies in my FJ40 but early seventies in my Opel GT made in Germany. That was a lot more fun to drive on the switchbacks.;) If your ever in the area would be happy to guide you in the area. Not in a Opel GT but might find a LC I can use somewhere.

Cool thing this little Opel GT :)

That must have been along time ago. The owner of Sedona Adventures sold out to Pink Jeep back in the nineties and was going to become a writer. I would check out possible FJ40s for him to use and got a number of parts from him. I don't believe Pink Jeep ever used the FJ40s. What they were really buying was the contracts for trails he had in the area. Private use you can go where you want but businesses have to have a contract and even then are limited to the number of times you can use it. Sedona Adventures had trails that Pink Jeeps didn't have any excess to. The FJ40s and parts were sold as bundle to Tim Hill in Southern AZ and for the most part were parted out. The only real mods to them were the box was seating for six in the back and roll cages. I did like the look of the 40s before when they were teal instead gold.

:hmm:... wait :)

Now I`m pretty sure the last trip in your area must have been 1995.
The third generation of the Chrysler Le Baron was build until 1995 and we always had new Barons with less miles on the clock.

I did not know until now that Max Ernst a German artist lived for some years in Sedona.

max_ernst_arizona.jpg

" ....Ernst and Peggy Guggenheim arrived in the United States in 1941 and were married at the end of the year.[8] Along with other artists and friends (Marcel Duchamp and Marc Chagall) who had fled from the war and lived in New York City, Ernst helped inspire the development of Abstract expressionism. His marriage to Guggenheim did not last, and in Beverly Hills, California in October 1946, in a double ceremony with Man Ray and Juliet P. Browner,[9] he married Dorothea Tanning. The couple first made their home in Sedona, Arizona "

Nice school model, but this model clones only the front of an Opel Kapitän a bit.
The Opel Kapitän have had 6 cylinder engines
Engine 2.5 l-I6, 55 PS/54 hp

Need more motive power, I see extra hands and feet available.................

Funny, that hood spear would be one of the first things to go here..........just like you guys to strip the practical pieces first.

You know ;) I love this little car the Citroen 2 CV
A video from 1962. Steffen Hampf tested his 14 hp car before travelling the world .
" 2CV in action 1962, the car of the Century ... First terrain test in preparation for a seven year long world tour thru Asia, North and Southamerica. This 2CV as a magnificent All-Rounder has passed the test, also in the deserts of Arabia and sometimes in Reverse Gear in the Himalayas too"
Enjoy.

Cheers Peter
