Can anyone recommend a quality epoxy primer that compares with PPG but doesn't cost the price of a gallon of liquid gold? I see SPI epoxy primer has been getting some rave reviews and doesn't break the bank too bad. My 40 has already had a coat of PPG EP shot on it when I had it blasted, now that I am finishing up on the metal work I want to protect that metal and move forward.

So, any recommendations?

Am using Eastwood...it seems to be doing a decent job of holding tight...YMMV

Just in the build up stages now, so not really very long. Time will tell I guess. Used it on another rig a couple years back and it seems to be doing just fine...again, time will tell..

I have heard good things about the SPI. I used endura myself, but im in canada.

ME TOO, Eastwood good but if you call around you can beat the price at a commercial supplier. Paint suppliers give discounts to commercial shops that shot a lot of product. If you have a fed. tax number then maybe a better price can be negotiated. Eastwood sells to us shade tree painters.

Yeah, DIYers don't get much of a price break I'm afraid....pretty satisfied with my choice so far. It laid down really nice and even...
