Dual alternators? (1 Viewer)

i swear it looks like I have another alternator under my power steering pump. Looks just like the alternator on passenger side, has wires running to battery and alternator. Can't be the smog pump, because I've seen pictures of that in the Desmog threads. Anyone heard of dual alternators? Or am I a dummy?

I have replaced my smog pump with a second alternator, and I've read that others have done this as well.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if it is what with all that other sweet sweet expo gear it came to you wit. My FJ40 has two too.

I added a second alternator in that location that is dedicated to the 2nd battery that runs fridge/winch/stereo etc .

I think I will add a second battery and do that, seems like 2 alternators and one battery is silly

FJ60 guys have done this. Harder on a 62....
