Does anyone know a good driveshaft company in the north county? What about ordering one from the big guys? I need a double-cardan one for the front of my bj44. The rear is a rebuilt pre-'84 FJ60 one and works beautifully.

Any opinions welcome!

Oceanside Drivelines has been good to me and I think has a good overall reputation. They built a spicer shaft for my 60 that I haven't had to touch in years. Driveline Vista, if it is still there, became a place to avoid years ago though I haven't been back in probably 10 years.

I've used Oceanside Driveline a few times in the past. I think they were better back int he day when the owner was young enough to do the work himself. Still a good shop but was much better 15 years ago.

Thanks guys! Can they build from scratch or do I need to bring a rebuildable core?

They can do either. You can bring the truck to them, or bring the old shaft and tell them to make it same/longer/shorter, etc... they make from scratch all the time though.

A lot cheaper if you bring them the old parts too.
