Just had my rear drive shaft out now have my front out. I noticed a few things. In the rear the washers are flat. In the front they are lock washers. Is this normal of should they all be lock washers?

Also I think someone said the rear washers go on the bolt side. That sounds backwards to me. Any advise?

Edit: just looked in FSM and see that washers do go on bolt side, strange. It also looks like the front ds goes in with the slip joint at the front diff side. Is this correct? I cant really tell from the picture in the FSM. But it looks like both drive shafts have the slip joints forward.

Both slip joints point forward

Having just removed those SOB's this weekend, yes both are forward, yes washers on the bolt rather than the nut. Hope you marked the drive flange to line up the axles when you put them back on.

Should be flat washers all around. This was something that was changed along the way. @beno probably has them in stock
