Here is a picture of my installation to remove my 25 years old distributor.
A crow bar to pull the string attached to the distributor (1.5 turn) upon the distributor axle. A hammer (not shown) hitting wise grip to rotate the distributor (+/- 5 deg at startup).
Oil filter and battery removed.
I changed the vacuum advance (the culprit) for a used camry vacuum advance & retard (only advance used).
Now, the engine works great and rev over 2k rpm.
