Now me, I would also color the chrome ring. Little grey or black plasti-dip and all good.

I have considered dulling down the chrome. I'd not use plastic dip for fear of it peeling down the line some time. I don't use that stuff on my pliers handles let alone a vehicle.

Oh yeah, it will eventually peel if the surface is not prepped well but actually it adheres pretty well to just about everything. I need a weekend where I can pull off my 62 side mirrors and prep them for the Plasti-Dip and finish blacking out the cruiser, alas way too busy for that lately.

That's OK, I'll stick with real paint.

I am often asked why I retain the OEM air cleaner housing on FJ62 swaps.
This is why, this thing will keep you running a lot longer than those pretty colored cone filters

Like most it's age, the fuseable links were shot on this truck, even bare wire showing. They are NLA so I went with a marine grade Blue Sea terminal block. 300 amp max, fuses from 30-300 amp. If the owner goes with a winch it will attach at the main bolt and be fused on it's own.

Are those slower burning like a fusible link or do they blow like a regular fuse?

Thank you @TLC Norway, you are too kind.

They are not slow burn like a fuseable link, they are high interrupt rated.

Where am I going to hide all of this, trans controller harness is not shown

Something is going to have to change here. This is the accelerator pedal that came with the motor, looks like something you'd find in a dump truck.

Nooooo thanks, enough computer related things in my life as it is. I already have something in steel in mind, on the old school side.

I am not a big fan of the stock gauges, but I am a fan of how they are placed in the dash. The Autometer gauges for this project are designed to be face mounted, most are. I am not fond of the look when face mounted. So I made a bracket to rear mount them using the OEM mounting positions.

If you decided to make these brackets in batches, I bet you would find a lot of Mudders interested.

I put this (in black) in one of my projects at work. It's REALLY nice.

I was looking at the black as well, just not quite right. I really like Lokar stuff though, even if they are quite proud of it $$$$.

Gas pedal mounts on a splined hub and is infinitely adjustable, brake pedal is height adjustable as well, about 3/4". I've raised the gas pedal about 1" vertically since the photo was taken

Pretty slick pedals Stan. I saw some a few years ago at a car show in Denver that were really nice and custom work. If I run across the guys card I'll send it to you. He laser cuts to your specs.

@reevesci Have you ever looked at Ring Bothers stuff. Off the charts attention to detail. Makes my OCD heart beat a little faster. These are Lokar products, gas is half a traditional cable set up adapted to the electronic pedal. Had to make a mount for the pedal anyway, why by another module from Lokar for $370
