uuh, yeah. crazy thing. i bough this old tent at a yard sale. its a stinky ass white stag tent. and i feel dumb posting about this. what man cant set up his own damn tent?

i think it has all the poles.
    i think its box shaped.
    its tuff heavy canvas.
    it stinks very much bad.

i tried setting it up today. not possible when
    a: i have no help
b: i have no clue where the poles go.

its brown canvas with a green tarp bottom.

i thot i could get a manual from white stag. but they are no longer a company, well sort of.

i did gather some info though. i think this one was made in portland, in the 70's or 80's. white stag sold their company to another, they sold it to walmart. now walmart carries cheap ass versions, and no way can i find a manual now.

so, anyone kinda know what type of tent im describing, and you own one? got a pic?

or, got an instruction manual or diagram you could scan for me?

    thanks

Can't you just sleep under piles of leaves? What's the point of camping if you're just going to sleep indoors? Next you'll want water that won't poison you.

What happened to your pioneer spirit?

this is the first tent i have ever owned.

but have set up many. slept in a few.

i do prefer the back of my truck.

the leave thing is nice too. but i have thing about leaves. you know one of those weird things people have?

so the next best thing is loose dirt. since i usually wear brown or black, sleeping in dirt never gets my clothes dirty. plus it hydrates the skin and ex foliates.

Wristy, do you have pics? If it's heavy canvas, then it likely has an internal frame? With a sewn in floor like you describe, you'll have to assemble the frame in sections outside and then bring them in (i.e. ridge pole and eaves) and then put the spreader bars in and finally the legs. It's a PITA sometimes, and having help is a bonus. Ultimately I think you should end up with something like this if this tent is what I think it is:

    Likely but not necessarily.

Post up pics dumbass so we can help. If it's canvas it's prob older than that thing Gumby's momma has growing on her ass. Next time spend prob another $5 and buy something on sale that's a good 30 yrs newer  :flipoff2:

That's not a tent, it's a soccer goal for little kids. That's your problem. Unless you're playing soccer.

Why do you want to use it, if it stinks so badly? Is this some odd dating strategy...to dsitract the ladies from your own heinous stench?

    You don't need a tent.
Slit open the belly of a beached whale length wise and crawl inside.
Not so unlike you would do to a TaunTaun to survive a night under the stars on Hoth.
