So, we just bought this little monster. 116HP of turbo charged Allis-Chalmers sweetness.
Weighs around 27,000 lbs, and has a 2 yard bucket. Mostly it was cheap and we need to skid some logs that a friend's tractor just couldn't get up the hill to our property. And, of course because it's awesome. It even has a chrome pipe!
Here is the left side, with the battery compartment open so I could replace them. I think i know why it was put up for sale so cheap though: I'm going through what little electrical system it does have. Tomorrow I'll take the alternator and voltage regulator out to have them rebuilt.
I'd never operated a crawler before. The first time I even sat in one was to start it on the trailer as it was delivered!
