where about are you in Japan.
If you are in Nagoya or close by I know of a guy.
Pacific Coast JDM may be another person to contact (Derek) who would point you in the right direction.

I'm in Okinawa. I'm likely going to get some rust fixed the week I get back and figure something out on my own for cleaning. Some kinda bath, clay bar and wax. I also want to cover it in plastic and bug bomb it the day prior to dropping it off. It's banana spider season here. Open to advice?

just make sure there is no caked on dirt anywhere.
Give it a good detail, you should be fine.
If you think its dirty, customs will too.

I hate those bug bombs....they leave an odd odour later.
I believe the local Habu snakes dietary intake includes the banana spider. ;)

Took me 12 hours to clean the car. Dial soap bath on the body and undercarriage. Clay bar'd the body and glass. Washed again with rain-x soap. Waxed the body and Windows, WD40'd the undercarriage. Long and hard, but I think worth it. Dropped the truck off for shipping to America!

Congrats! I guess that means the 100 didn't get the win :bang:.

I have been looking at those myself because I have a wagon fetish and they are getting harder and harder to find. Enjoy!!

The Hundred didn't make sense financially. My wife is separating and going to school full time. With two kids I couldn't justify the cost in gas especially considering the Hindu wouldn't like towing the 70 for long periods.... We love the car! If you can wait I'd wait for VW to release the TDI cars for sale. The dealerships all have 2015's sitting and they will likely liquidate them at the end of this year, beginning of next.

I know what you mean. My wife drives a Volvo V70 diesel. It sips fuel compared to the Hundy.

Just got word yesterday evening the Cruiser is ready for pick up. Tickets purchased, appointment made, and ground transport secured (@WanderinWhitlows many thanks!) for everything goes as planned I'll be driving her home Thursday evening! More to come, and finally a U.S. 70 series registration!

Looking forward to meeting you and your baby on Thursday.

Huge thanks to @WanderinWhitlows today! Scooped me up from the air port, had brunch at a local dinner. Scooped up my truck from prison. The knuckle heads there tried to jump it with a 12v charger, luckily GT brought along his beast of 77 to breath life into my old girl. After he escorted me to get gas, oil, and batteries. $400 later I'm on the road again.

So happy GT and the community is so tight knit. Imagine if it were a jeep ;)

Like I told you today, Whats the point of being a member of a community if you don't act like a member of that community. It was a great privilege to meet you and be able to help you get your Cruiser home safe. Have a safe trip home.

Made it home. Averaged about 23mpg. The truck just ticked away at 80-90kph with no fuse.

@cruiserdan or other mod; can you change the name of this thread to:
"A slice of Okinawa, PZJ77's story and build"

I'm missing my second home terribly and think it's more fitting. Thank you for your consideration.

If you have two 24v vehicles, wouldn't you just do a 24v to 24v jump start? :meh:
