I need to replace the hard line on the rear axle, driver's side and was wondering a few things.

1) Cant I just get a straight line from Napa or something and bend it myself?

1, a) Is the ferrule nut threaded with a metric or a standard pattern?

1,b) If metric, could I just get some line, cut out the old stuff and put in a new line and flare it myself?

1,c) Is the end single or double flared?

2) Would anyone have access to this part # if none of part 1 will work? :D

I am asking all these questions because I cant get it off the cylinder anyways to see what is what. It isnt fun to drive around with that side held shut with vice grips. ::)

It has only been driven in my yard, but I want to take it on the road at some point ya know.

YES - this is easiest.

Metric

NAPA carries metric lines

double

Thanks Brian!

This is a double flare with the bubble right?

The guy at Napa asked if it was inverted or not, and I have never heard of an inverted double flare.

mmmm....I believe it IS inverted...no bubble on the line.

What happens is, you create the "bubble", then invert it into the line....I think that makes sense!

Definitely a double flare, NOT a bubble flare...
