Hey guys..Not sure, but I might have popped a birfield.

In 4 wheel drive, my '76 FJ40 doesn't want to turn left, and it's harder than h*ll to get the transfer case back to two wheel high. Once in two wheel high, with the hubs unlocked, she runs fine. In two wheel high with the hubs locked, she runs ok, but tends to move slightly back in forth in the lane at higher speeds (for my 40 that means 40 mph) Locking and unlocking the hubs is not difficult at all...

Does this sound like a bad birfield? Any other ideas?

Put front end on jackstands and see what happens. with wheels off ground you can play with steering and hubs.
