just took out my 40 with the new 350 465 and tlc3 speed and split the case in half shoul i swap in a chevy case if so what do i have to do or should i stay with a 3 speed tlc case? please help ???

72 and what is a transfer case saver

The 72 "should" be a strong enuf case....I have yet to have a problem with mine, but ya never know. You could also drop in the earlier gears into a later case and bolt that up, just need to properly shim the ider set.
