I'm wanting to pull the trigger on this deal, but being sold exclusively at Harbor Freight makes me hesitant. I've read reviews on it and it seems to be okay, with the only negative reviews I saw came from people that don't actually own this winch. I love the peanut gallery, but any thoughts from those that actually use this winch??

I've got a 12K too. It pulled the 80 fine on a test run, but have not needed it yet. i picked it up for $249 with a coupon on top of a sale they were having, so I could not pass it up. The first one I got was DOA when I bench tested it, but #2 spooled up no problem.
I had to use this winch a few weekends ago. I just couldn't make it out of this obstacle I was stuck on, all 4 wheels were slipping. This winch pulled me out no problem. I haven't tested it pulling me out of mud, but for the time I needed it, it worked.
