what do you actually do by using a car with bad gas in the tank.

Is the only solution having it drained or would filling it up with super suffice if it has a small amount in the tank

Drain it... contaminants and other items in the gas can kill parts as gas turns to varnish as it gets old. Just drain the tank if it is questionable.

Drain it

Drain the tank. Replace the filter and drain the carb bowl (unscrew one of the two bowl drain bolts on the front). You may even want to pull the coil wire, remove the fuel line off the carb and crank over the engine with the fuel line routed into a container (to flush the lines).

Misleading title. I thought it meant what you get after a vegetarian Mexican meal with lots of broccoli and garlic oil.

What do you mean by "bad gas?" How "bad" is it?

Is it 8 months old and only at a quarter tank? Then yeah, I would go fill it up with fresh gas dump in a can of Heet and drive.

If it's contaminated with dirt/water/etc. then you have to drain it.

If you don't know how old it is or if it's been a year +, defiantly drain it.

I once started a Ford Bronco on ~6 year old gas, it actually ran but the next time I went to start it both low and high pressure electric fuel pumps were seized.

Has has been in there since feb/March.

Not dirty or anything.

I'm doing a carb anyway
