83 fj power steering good or not so good?

    my son just picked up a 83fj, wondering how well the oem power steering set up is on the it, or if i need to start scrounging saganaw? it's bone stock but i know he'll soa n go bigger rubber. he's in ut i'm in co i have puter he don't so i'm lookin for yer input.

    Saganaw is better if you are going big, (SOA & 35"s+). Its a simpler design and parts are cheap and easy. That said, stock power steering is fine. Wait till you need to replace it or you get sick of the slop in all that toyota linkage! - Sean
