Hi Everyone

Driving home today my 1983 60 stalled coming down mountain?

I can start her up if I pump gas from pedal and keep pumping to keep going otherwise stall

Also recently has been back firing as I'm coasting ?

In advance thank you!!!
This is my first time posting!

If it stalled going up the mountain, I'd think fuel pump first. Going down... maybe a bad vacuum or intake manifold leak? Maybe a stuck EGR valve? Make sure timing and fuel mix are set and that you can see fuel in the carb window - once those are good, I'd look for air leaks. Good luck!

Agree with vacuum leak somewhere... other thought and easy item is to check the sight glass to see that there is fuel in the carb bowl. If not then you have a fuel starvation issue that is probably due to a bad/dead Fuel cut solenoid (green plug on top of the carb).

Thank you !

Fuel was in the bowl

Checked solenoid and one of the lines was cut

I'm assuming this wasn't done for a reason?

Really depends on what was done with the line.. if just hanging then no it wasnt done properly. If was grounded to the carb body then use the "Green Wire Mod" was done previously to it meaning that the signal for the ICS (aka Fuel Cut Solenoid) has gone bad either in the wire from teh computer to the ICS or at the computer (both fairly common).
