2L-TE Valve shims (1 Viewer)

Hi

Does anyone have a collection or know where I can get valve shims for my 2LTE head?

first off - you should know what numbers you need, and by that I mean you have to measure with a feeler gauge the thickness of each shim needed then look in the FSM at the range of thicknesses that correspond to your measurement(s) and write down those numbers ie. 2 #23's 1 #16 etc. Then you can order them piece by piece at toyota - they are not cheap though, but its not like you have many other options, and once setup you should be good to go for quite some time. I can look in my FSM if you need #'s.

I know the ones I need. 2 #16's and and one #45. I took one in to the Toyota dealer today and they said they don't have any like that (diameter wise)
Have you bought them from a local Toyota dealer?

I got mine from 4 Wheel Auto in Edmonton. I think they were about $13 apiece.
