To quote the amazing Ricky Boby "I wanna go fast"

Stock HP isn't as poor as the Jeeps.. but I wanted more. Has anyone gone full enchilada, CAI, ECU performance chip, custom exhaust, etc.. Just bolt ons. And then actually done a dyno on it??

$300-$400 for 15-20hp to the wheels is noticeable. Anything less isn't worth it.

Older engines benefited a lot from intake, exhaust and cam mods because they were pretty inefficient stock. The newer generation (including the 1GR-FE family) are amazingly well-designed and engineered. You can modify them to make more more hp, but all you're going to do with bolt-on stuff is move the power band around, usually to someplace less useful in the real world. As an example, headers and custom exhaust - 99% of these only add hp on the very top end (high revs) and most of them will actually lose torque and hp at modest rpm where every normal person drives. HP figures sell these systems; they just don't tell you where the hp gains are and where you lose power to get it at the very top of the rpm band.

You engine is an explosively driven air pump better breathing inhale and exhale improves performance AFE CAI and URD spec u exhaust gives you a better breathing system , but for seat of the pants instant fun IMHO the sprint booster is first on the list , there is no hp gain but what you do have is more available, quicker throttle response and shifting leads to happiness .
