Thanks for the lead. shermantank55 has a pretty sweet rig. That makes me feel a bit better about my purchase. It looks like there is a few ways you could approach it and I do like the "classic look" as shermantank55 put it.
That is what I was looking for.
Thanks
Thanks for the input. The main purpose for the rig is for overland expeditions. I expect 99% of the time they will work perfectly but that other 1% may be for when I get in over my head.
I will see if I can do that. However, I did get a bit of a deal on them so I wouldn't be out any money. Offer still stands if I decide not to beef them up.
I saw those pictures and chuckled a bit. I don't think I will do that. They will still be new in the box. If I decide to get other sliders I will sell the ARBs.
If anyone wants some new ARB steps with fender guards for their 80 I would probably let these new ones go for about $500 plus...
I'm super stoked! I have finally order an ARB bumper for my 80. :bounce: I also ordered the side rails with fender protector. I thought these would be beefier than it turns out they actually are (see photo from previous post). :bang: Too late to cancel my order so I was wondering if I could...
Ok I will grease it see how that works. My diffs are not leaking. I did change the fluid not too long ago. I bought this rig in July and so it was my first diff change. The rear was fairly clean. The front was practically mud. I do have a very, very slow leak coming from the speedo cable...
Well, too late. I did panic and got some new tires. Not a big deal since I really needed them anyway. Problem is still there. I am going to take a closer look at the exhaust tonight. Every so often I here a rattling. :bang:
Just ran out on my lunch break to check the tire diameter. I didn't have any chalk to do as was suggested but I did have some string. The used tire had a 2 1/4" larger circumference. I don't think that is good at all. I should have checked that a long time ago but you know what happens when...
I am getting a low rumble/ vibration when I let up on the accelerator. It was barely noticeable at first but has since gotten worse after about 4 or 5 days.
Yesterday and today I have noticed it sometimes rumbles while accelerating above 2000 rpms. This happens once in a while but is not as...
The connections to the battery are super clean with no corrosion. I just bought this rig in July and the previous owner appears to have taken great care. The terminals have the red goop on them. I was also thinking a loose or corroded connection but I have not seen anything. I did clean up...
I have been having an intermittent starting problem. 9 out of 10 times I have no trouble starting at all. That 10th time is usually when I am not home and my wife needs to get somewhere. :bang: I took it into a shop and described what was happening and they said ignition switch. I took it into...
I'm running 33s and need a spare to match. Has anyone been able to fit one that big where the factory spare is located or am I going to have to go with a different option?
I had the same thing happen to me just after I bought my 80. Looking through the owners manual it said that sometimes it will come on if the road is bumpy. It seems to do it less for me when the oil level is on the high end of having enough oil.
