I had an Aussie locker in the front of my last 80 and really regretted it. Steering was very difficult at the times when I really felt like I needed to be able to steer easily. It may depend on what type of conditions you wheel in. Mine was steep and muddy. Edit - I had part time 4wd in that...
Anyone need 80 seats? I set them out for the trash to pick up on Weds but thought I would post them here first in case someone wants them. Passenger side is ok, drivers side is completely ripped and taped up. Motors don't work in either seat and the drivers side switch is bad and removed...
The replacement leather is not the same as the factory pattern and doesn't seem to match properly. I agree with everyone else that it looks like it has had a good detail job done but is definitely not restored.
I still have some Ironman c coils for sale for $150. They netted me right at 3" on my 97. I posted them for sale right before Covid hit and threw them in the corner of the garage and forgot about them.
Edit: I am in Homewood
I built a dozen or so sets about 10 years ago for our local club. I agree with everything everyone said so far - they are hard to build and not really worth the effort over buying. I thought they would get easier once I built a few sets but they actually seemed to get harder. If you want to...
If you were creative with the mounting bracket they would be easy to remove instead of folding. They are noticeably lighter than the factory seats so it be much easier.
Mine are Corbeau sport seats in Spice vinyl. The seatbelt was retained from the factory seat and bolted to the seat adapter. That is one complaint I have with them is that the seatbelt is fixed instead of moving with the seat.

I was installing some Corbeau Sport seats so I pulled one of the rear seats to see how it would fit.
It actually fits pretty well. Plenty of headroom for me at 5’11” and the brackets would be simple to build.
I have seen at least one more but I can’t find it. The side molding stops at the flare which creates an issue. I looked into it a few years ago but gave up.
I think I have thrown away at least three stock 80 series bumpers over the years. I never thought of breaking them out into individual pieces like that. Very smart, nice work.
