Just FYI this will not work as the VVTI engine was not offered with a 4 speed tranny. This will cause some codes.
The a343 (if that is what you have) does not have a line pressure solenoid. Line pressure is controlled by a throttle valve driven by a cable connected to the throttle plate...
The 100 transfer case and the 80 transfer case are both passenger drop front and rear if that is what your asking. I purchased a 100 a340f and bolted my stock 80 t-case to it. They are the same t-case with some small differences. You can save some money using your transfer case.
I'm using a uzj100 transmission, the total drivetrain move for me was 6.5 inches. Currently the transfercase is hitting the floor and I need a slight body lift and floor modification to clear it. My throttle body also hits the hood where the PCV hose enters.
I'll throw this out there even though I run 4.56 stock gears. I've broken 5 sets of gears. All of my failures occured on the street but could have started on the trail. You can over power any v6 gearset, running higher hp and "gettin it" can kill about anything 4.10 through 5.71. The biggest...
I have done 2 3.4l swaps and love driving them. My 4runner feels like it "should". My 1st truck is a 90 4runner and the donor was what was left of a 98 rolled 4unner. I supercharged it and did some fuel mods. This truck has too much power for stock drivetrain componets and I'm looking to...
I was just saying that, being that it is still a dropout with a rear abs sensor, that this is not a Toyota axle. The differential pinion flange and the round "diff cover area" and a dead give-away that this is not toyota.
I know that all of toyotas solid axles use dropout differentials. I...
Umm yea, My charged 4runner has a hole in the hood, about 12" by 20". A body lift is not needed if you are ok with cutting the hood. My wife's 4runner didn't need a hole but did rub a little
That is not a toyota axle. It is spring under, with disc brakes, with a dropout differential, and it has a rear ABS sensor. I'd stab a guess that it is out of a older Trooper, Pathfinder, Rodeo thingy.
The weight of a 4bt is not worth it in a mini truck. The long block weight is over 600lbs, not including the tranny.
You have a g52 tranny, this is worth swaping out now. A w56 is an easy swap, just get one with a t-case attached because you can't reuse the forward shift t-case with the...
The 90 4runner was originally a auto, the swap was as simple as finding the transmission, crossmember, rear drive shaft(different lenght), clutch bracket and hydrolics. Then it is just a matter of parts install, most of the holes are there.
The blocks are similar but not identical, the...
I have done that swap, 2 times now! It is an easy swap if you have a manuel transmission, autos are more difficult. Offroadsolutions sells all the parts to make the swap a "no brainer". His wiring harnesses make the engine a "plug and play" setup. I don't bother making my own harness, the...
I would never tow any vehicle over the road with my 4runners. The 4runner is too light compared to the load and the brakes are not that great. I towed 12' ATV trailer, it is enclosed with brakes, the total weight is around 2200lbs. The 4runner did ok and would hold the speed limit but I have...
That kit is for the header kit they sell. This will not work with your stock exhaust. This is a add-on for the headers.
I've heard that the full kit helps the 3.0 out some.
The 2L and the 2LT were offered in the 80's pickups. They have some head issues, they crack between the valves. They are not very strong, a good running 22re will run around a tuned 2LT. You can buy half cuts of trucks from japan with diesels but they run about 5,000 to start. Your local...
My Toy is very fast, for a 4runner. It will now run a 14.9 quarter at Bandimere in Denver.
I have less then 5grand in my swap but I did all my own labor. My swap was easy because it was already a v6. Fuel mods now are starting to add up in price though.
I would never swap a Carb engine in...
A 10 year old vehicle will most likly not get any help from toyota warranty. Unless you have a long service history with a dealer, even asking is pointless. But you could try. This code will not cause a breakdown, just a light, this is why they (warranty not your dealer) won't help you.
In the 97 80's there is a tsb for an updated ECU for the code P0116, EG003-97.
The part number for the new ECU is: 89661-60652. You don't need to fix anything if you are ok with checking and clearing the code once in a while. It might become more persistant(sp?).
The 10.5" is the standard diff behind the 5.7l.
You can't take TIS as the end all because it is still being updated.
the 4.0v6 and the 4.7v8 will have the landcruiser 9.5"
The ECT/Power switch only changes your shift points to a higher RPM to give firmer shifts and to keep the RPMs higher for more power. It does not change the fuel or timing map.
