They were factory rotors. New pads were probably after market by the time the problem occured; this was over ten years ago. The front set were new because one shop replaced them in an attempt to resolve the squeal. Another symptom was weak e-brake holding on incline.
I bought my poly before I joined the forum, but I kept the original. So, I plan to recondition the original tank so it will be ready in case I need it.

My stock '75 40 has the exhaust running about 2 in. below the left frame beam. I'm sure it is original because the PO (neighbor) gave me a new muffler he hadn't yet installed. A while back, I saw an identical placement on a 40 in Portland.

I'm very new at this. Just bought a '75 FJ40. The original choke cable (metal housing) is frozen. Bought a new one (rubber housing). It seems I need to remove the heater in order to have room to get to the retaining nut behind the dash. Is there another way to do this?
