I am running slee 4" heavy progressive springs in rear and 35's. It's more like 5" of lift. I runs down the trails just fine with the RTT, also a CVT. It handles great and isn't very tippy at all, even with a full overland load, and fuel cans up top. The bigger problem with the taller set up...
I think you're ahead of me this time!
I'm pulling the motor and trans from my '01 4x4, it goes down the road 70-80 no problem (3.89 gears, I think, or 3.55), and uphill at that speed too, even pulling a trailer. With the taller tires on the 80 I am guesssing, without doing any calculations...
You know whats funny Jeremy? Like you I also sunk a little coin in doing my Isuzu/A440 swap, although it works well, I want to do 70 on the freeway consistently, which is why I am slapping in a 24v and nv4500. Haha! Look forward to seeing yours come together, and a mucho thank you for all the...
I have a 3fe that I pulled for a diesel swap, it had 168,000 miles on it when I pulled it and it ran great! I am asking $500. It has most of the accesories on it. I would also trade for a 60 series split case or a disk brake rear axle. I'll get some pics up soon
Not sure on the A442, the only thing I know is that you need to run a separate controller for it, and tune it.
Truck is running great! Fuel and timing are cranked, barely any black smoke at WOT. It's no rocket ship, but has plenty of giddy-up for around town. I finally got my glow plugs...
Sorry for the long delay, but I have been sorting some things out with the rig. It had been doing great, but had a lingering white/grey smoke that was bugging me. I had done the injectors and everything else that I could think of, so I was kinda set on the injection pump needed a rebuild. Not...
I just sat down and got caught up on your build, I haven't checked in on it in a while (last time i think your pages were in the 20's). Looks really good!! Thanks for your time and effort in keeping up on progress/updates!
Ok, so I put forth a menial effort to figure out what my fuel mileage actually is. With the 33's it is actually 17. I just put 315's on it, I'll keep ya posted on the changes.
I just got back from a 400+ mile jaunt into the great basin area. I flogged her pretty good. The truck performed very well, and I had zero problems, hence why I can update this right now!
I am running 33x10.50, I haven't swapped to 35's yet. It cruises at 65 very nicely, in fact, between 60...
