My other concern regarding the ignition switch being the problem is I am getting a strong consistant 'click' and hum to the starter not intermittent. Also, if I didnt get any click when the key was turned this would mean I wasnet getting contact at the ignition switch?
In Roncrusier post, his...
Ok, I wont be able to get under the cruiser tonight, but after digging in to the FSM to review the neutral safety switch, I dont see any reference in the trouble shooting to "click" no start. To be clear the neutral start switch and neutral safety switch the same thing?
Haynes manual referes...
No I havent, did remember seeing this though. I am assuming its directly off the tranny housing, assuming near ther starter? I dont recall this being a typical cure but worth checking before heading to the ignition. i will keep you posted...
thanks

Yup, Toyota reman.
I was following old posts late last night and found a 8 page post that Roncrusier posted(am at work and dont have the time to locate the link right now). After rebuilds of starter, solenoids, contacts, positive cable changeouts, etc . Ended up the culprit was the ignition...
hmm. I took apart the motor/armature side last night and didnt get to the other half, must be in there.
Anyone know the part name for this, SM mentions nothing about or illustrates a plunger???
I have the starter off the truck. Everything looks pretty good. I am not following on what/where the "plunger" is. The SM doesnt list any part called the plunger. The motor contacts/brushes looks clean. The gear rotates clowise and locks counter clockwise. So where is the plunger, apparently a...
battery(interstate) is pretty new. The guage is reading a consistant half mark (15volts).
I havent had time check the connections yet, I also plan to run a jumper wire from battery directly to contact on the starter to eliminate a electrical/ignition issue.
I bought the rebuild kit and had the shop who repairs the car rebuild the starter, hmmm. Good chance they installed the plunger was too long. But would it work for a while then cause problems?
thanks
I replaced the contacts and plunger(kit) in my starter about 4-5 months ago. Started fine. On Friday, turn the key and "click". Before I could crank it a few times to get it crank, not this time. Its officially dead.
1. I hear a click, telling me I DONT have a ignition problem, correct?
2. The...
Thanks guys.
Yep, I have the ONLY 1994 with rear drums and no ABS, the Araco plant confirmed it. Its rare and worth 45k, any buyers! Seriously, it is rare and I havent found anyone with this setup.
I found 'Shahrams' post, gotta be the same problem. I will check the hoses off the booster...
Can I just uplug this sensor and be ok.
Truck runs fine the check engine comes on for about 2-3 days then off for the same.
Other issues to be concerned about?
Thanks
Chris
As of the other day my brake pedal stiffened up making me to really push the pedal to stop. I can feel the pedal give way and tighten up when driving. Unlike the brakes giving out and having to pump to build pressure. This is the opposite, scary as hell driving in traffic, with my hand on the...

CC is a fun day long trip, I can do all the hardstuff except for one optional 100 yard long stretch off the right 1/2 way up(not sure if theres a name for it). I am not fully locked...
I understand your point, and my point was never meant suggest the Chinese are the only ones to tool and injection mold parts. We work with 2 injection molding companies right here in Phoenix, so yes there are injection molding houses in the states. These guys typically mold plastic for medical...
After we have had to return a good majority of my sons Thomas the Train and Fisher Price toys because of lead painted parts - I 100% understand the pissed of reactions!
I read article of US toy companies that typically specialize in wood related toys are seeing huge profits over the summer...
Keep in mind, if you really boycotted China products I doubt any of you would be on this Ih8mud website using your Chinease made computer, typing on your Chinese made keyboard and clicking with your Chinese made mouse.
