Me too. Stripped out the the "lock lug socket" and got pissed, went to toyota and bought 4 regular lugs, then threw the locking lugs as far as I could.
Ditto on the terragrapplers, on my 2nd or 3rd set and I love these tires. They are great in everything except slick mud. Keep them rotated and you'll get 40-50k out of them. You can get them at discounttiredirect.com for a good price, with free shipping. Stock size is $165-$175 depending on...
I just replaced my windshield a month or so ago. Called everyone, then I called everyone's brother. The big name websites will list bronze as an option, but from what I found it aint available, and aint orderable. The local glass shop i used tracked down what was available, blue band or no...
Thanks for all the responses folks. I'm in no hurry to run out and buy a 100, but looking for the ONE, if I happen to come across it.
One question, I saw some models have a height control or some sort, is that only on the lx470's? How does that effect adding a lift, such as the ome 2.5", or...
I dont think this will help you much. THe stock tstat (180 degree??) will be wide open just like the 160 degree when it starts getting warmer than normal. Make sure your cooling system is in good shape. Address your fan clutch fluid, I would replace the fluid with a minimum of 15k cst (search...
Hey Guys,
Bit of a fishing expedition here. I currently have a 1995 landcruiser, built decently (see sig), and am toying with upgrading to the 100 series. I dont do heavy wheeling or rock crawling, more expedition/hunting type stuff. My 95 is a beast, but on the road it just aint that...
I put a 2.5" borla on mine. I would highly suggest you stay away from the borla. The mounts will break, and the muffler developed a "rattle" in it. I had the muffle cut out and replaced with a magnaflow. I wish I had gone with a custom 3" from the beginning.
Hey Folks,
developed a new issue. Under heavy acceleration, the engine cuts out at around 2900-3000 rpms and above unless I reduce throttle. If I reduce throttle and continue accelerating, runs fine, get back in it, starts cutting out. By cuts out, I dont mean it stops altogether, it acts...
Do you have a lift? if so, do you have any heavy attachements, such as an ARB/Winch/heavy aftermarket bumper?
I have the setup in my sig, and run Nitto TG's, 295's. I think they are a little over 33". I havent had any issues with rubbing. I tow a heavy pop-up, weighs about 3000 lbs empty...
you will have to pull it out, take it apart, remove blown bulbs, source and buy new bulbs, solder in new bulbs, and reinstall head unit. just replace it with a newer unit. I replaced mine with scion i got off ebay for less than $30. I had to trim the faceplate, but a heck of alot less...
sounds like you are at your wits end. I dont think I have had a 401, but did have a 402. This fixed it for me. https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/132135-p0402-learn-my-mistake.html . I would check it out.
I'm on my second borla, and have had to replace the muffler on it. Something in it started rattling and was driving me nuts. I would steer clear of the borla cat back exhaust. The hangers on it will break, and it will need extra exhaust hangers added. Find something else and save yourself...
make sure your wheel bearing are tight. I had this issue prior to installing new oem rotors and 100 series pads, new bearings and races. The way it was explained to me, if your wheel bearings are loose, when you apply the brakes in a hard/panic stop, your not getting 100% pad to rotor contact...
