Thanks for providing this service to the community. Iguess Iordered my set just in time. 😀 Enjoy your retirement, hopefully in a year or two i’ll be able to do likewise
“The new one got an h55f, hz diesel, and cable locked axles front and back.”
Can you post some pics of the cable locker install, particularly the location of the actuators?
I’m working through the same conundrum. I’ve only seen one solution on Mud where the actuators are under the driver’s seat. I’ve got hj61 cable lockers on my fj62 now that I’m planning to migrate to my 40 build.
perhaps it was simply overfilled. I don’t know, when you overfill an engine crankcase to oil can be whipped into a foam, and can no longer lube the engine properly. Don’t know if that’s what happens in an overfull tranny
NOS is an acronym that stands for New Old Stock, which is usually referring to parts originally manufactured as factory replacement parts and which have never been used. HTH
If you're running a stock Aisan carb, then you should have a look at the fuel level in the sight glass. Start it up for a minute and then shut it off and check the level, should be around half way up the glass. If it's higher than that, you probably have a stuck needle valve and will be running...
I just went and checked, found only one code: P0430 (both pending and stored). I haven't seen that one before I assume it's O2 sensor related. I don't know when I'll get to take pictures of the the connections since the glove box is back in place, but I'm sure the wires have been correctly done...
Mine’s a 2008. I only drove about 4 miles yesterday so it was probably a bit too soon to declare victory, especially about the drive solenoid. I’ll look into what’s involved with replacing that. What indicates that you’re in limp mode or not?
I installed the kit today finally. The install wasn't't difficult at all, though I haven't done the block off plates yet since my only SAIS code was P1442. Also, I chose to use the scotchlok connectors because I'm old and didn't feel like trying to solder small wires while lying on my back in a...
Thanks guys, I'll be careful with the studs. I've got a lot of experience removing rusted bolts, I'm rehabbing an '82 FJ40, which spent it's entire lfe in VT, and I only broke tree bolts stipping the whole thing down to the frame. :) I'll go ahead and instll the bypass kit first and start...
