My has been sitting since august, and I can walk over at any point and it will fire right up, so no. I would use fuel stabilizer if it’s going to be sitting.
Owning your first FJ40 is like losing your virginity: it’s expensive, awkward, and you’re probably going to do it wrong; but none of that stops you from trying again. 😁
I had to build up every point of my header where the bolts should have lined up. Welded a few passes on each one, then ground them flat and used a die grinder to shape the holes. PITA, but it worked.
There's a kit out there that bypasses the AIP. I used it when mine went bad at 150K. Here's a link to the bypass kit. Paul is a good dude and easy to reach if you need advice.

Not mine. Talked to the guy in FB this am. Seems like decent price. Has some issues, but not insurmountable.

Some pics from last weekend. Not much going on but I did get a first coat of rust converter on the frame (and everything else that was rusty). The last pic is a sneak peak on what’s to come. 😉
It wasn't hard. I got the sway bar and mounts from a 62 and just bolted them up. Then I bought some threaded rod, bushings, washers, and 6" of ½ black pipe and made my own end links. It worked well, but they weren't easily disconnected. I'll fab up some quick disconnects when I figure...
