A friend brought his mig welder to weld up the frame reinforcement plates from delta.
then i installed the axle relocation kit from redline land cruisers. swapped in the rebuilt transfer case. re sprayed the bed liner and installed the wheels and tires. i should get a few more good years of...
probably want to check the brass bushing in the back of the spindle for wear. somebody suggested that was why the positioning ring worked loose because of the extra slop in the axle rotation inside the housing with that bushing worn and sure enough mine was pretty bad. the broken birf end would...
nah, you know how it goes, sometimes just venting about it helps. the last thing id think it was was a new bearing being out of spec so it was the last thing i checked. the whole time i figured it was something i did wrong. i guess it still was. had i ever done it before id have known that that...
Took a little while to get the transfer case done. I made a mistake, when I took the bearings out of the output shaft housings i didnt remember which came from which and when i put the front back together I wasnt taking my time and put the wrong bearing in it and when i figured it out it didnt...
I thought I was done for the night but decided to tear it back down before the rtv fully cured. Once I was in it I decided to take that gear back off and inspect the needle bearings. I remember when I took it apart the first time the needle bearings slid right out. This time the new bearing was...
It shifts as it should, locks and unlocks. Unlocked in high it turns easier although it still take quite a bit of leverage on the dowel, locked in low it's so stiff I've got to hold it down on the bench or it'll roll off and I can feel that bearing inside that gear dragging and I don't want to...
I've been slowly and carefully doing this job and I'm stumped on reassembly. Everything turns and operates as it should until I put the rear output shaft on. I've assembled and disassembled it 3x now and the same thing keeps happening. The spacer and shim on the oil pump is pushing the bearing...
next up i got low range gears and high range underdrive gears. that will be next on the list. then i got a kit to move the front axle forward to make room for 37s. theyre sitting in the shop waiting on me with some beadlock rims. then i got new bedliner to re-do this as its now pretty old. im...
sooo as a result i cracked the frame around the steering gearbox. i decided it was time to park her and give her some love. i got a plate kit from delta to plate over the frame, while the steering box is out i resealed it and upgraded to the 105 shaft.
not mine but figured id share the post.

This was somewhere in richloam wma near Brooksville fl. My oldest son narrating when he was 14. On the way back the champagne 80 took the wrong line, stalled mid way ended up with water in the cab and engine. Luckily we had enough oil between us to change it on the trail and that trucks still...
