On a 1985 2F, I ran an igniter and coil assembly I pulled from an early-mid 80's Toyota car. It worked great.
Part number is 101311-2042 Nippondenso, but there doesn't appear to be many of them out there either.
16x7 Crawler (US Wheel)
I ordered 16x7 wheels from US Wheel. The wheel is reversed (inner rim is outer) custom backspaced to 2.5"
It did not clear my 4Runner caliper and required some grinding on the inner rib of the caliper. It now fits without spacers.
The part number was 048-7760...
The old tires were purchased new by me in 1993 or 1994 and have been on two different landcruisers and one suburban to Alaska and back. The sidewalls looked great, but I didn't want to put my family on them anymore.
Not sure if I like the new look. I was worried about handling, but I'm...
With the old setup I was running a 1/4" spacer on the front wheels and none on the back with the 33x12.5s. You can see the old vs. new width.
I had a forklift available, so I checked clearance at full flex. This was about 20" high on the outside of the tire. The spring type is unknown...
This is what the calipers looked like after grinding. I took enough off to clear plus a bit more in case the wheel flexes a little.
Because I ordered the wheels with custom backspacing, they arrived unpainted. I debated about paint vs. powder coat and decided on paint. It was much more...
This is a followup to my older post requesting opinions about wheels and tires. I read every post I could find about wheels that fit, but still felt the options that actually work without spacers were very few.
These are custom steel 16x7 crawlers with 2.5" backspacing from US Wheel. With...
I prefer to ask for help after it's much too late.
I ordered unpainted 16x7 crawlers from US wheel. They insist the wheel center has plenty of caliper clearance. We'll see.
Then about 30 minutes ago, I had the local America's tire shop price match Tire Grabber on a set of 255/85r16...
Ordered custom 16x7 wheels today, so I'm going with the 255s. Will post a picture up on the wheels that fit thread when they're installed.
Thanks for the input.
I've been running 33x12.5 ATs on 15x10 wheels for a long time. I want to go to something more narrow yet keep as much track width as possible. I've read all the posts about wheels and tires, but I'm still undecided and need to order something soon. I'd rather not run spacers.
This is what...
I've had a Fairey in my 87 for about 7 years. I purchased it installed, everything works fine. I'd say it's a bit noiser than the regular transfer case, particularly in overdrive. You probably realize there are two completely different types right? The one I have is a modification to the...
Nice. I've was hoping to find that diagram. I've already forgotten, but I think it was an 06 or 07. Thanks very much.
The bag is hiding in the hangar waiting for a boring day.
Sorry, no updates for you guys. I probably shouldn't have started the thread until I was finished. The wife had a baby and work is keeping me busy. I welded in temporary mounts for the drivers seat, but will be removing them when I work on it again. I've also completely removed the airbags...
I have one of my two Volvo seats temporarily welded in right now and I'm very happy about the way it feels and looks. However, you will need to fabricate new seat mounts/brackets and modify the rib on the transmission hump to make them fit well. I'm too busy to get it all done right now and I...
Oh, you can also take this out if you want. It's the weight sensor and switch installed under the bottom cushion.
The seat side of the big plug after pulling the stuff I don't want. Remaining wiring should power the seat motors and seat heaters.
This is the seat heat controller. Two...
