Thanks MaineLX470 for the video and thanks to (Ian) ranma21 for the replacement part. I went to work on Saturday and everything was going smooth until it came to "fishing" the broken part out. I worked on that little part for almost 2 hours. I finally decided to unscrew the two back screws...
I'm now a member of this club. Happened to me this afternoon in my driveway and to my 2003 TLC with 215k miles (and I've put 185k on it since I bought it in 2004). Nice thread and thanks for documenting over the years. I'll try to do it myself and start this week. It's hot here so not looking...
Don, thanks again for the comments on my son's mod (only 5 days left). I was looking at some threads and saw your white "beast" and was freakin' amazed. What a beautiful ride. And now come to find out you have just bought the TT above? Dude we have the same taste, we have this one (same...
He's a good kid and makes good grades. As a father who didn't have anything growing up (first car was a vega - and it smoked) I struggle with walking that fine line between providing for the kids with those things that I wanted but couldn't get. We have gone through several thoughts on the...
Update:
Thanks to all the comments, I had to move pretty fast so I went with what I had originally planned, however I did go with the heavier OME suspension. With this being his first ride and with the “boys will be boys” I suspect some off-road, but not sure he will go extreme. NW Arkansas...
Thanks Jerry. I'll work with the local off-road shop to get their opinions on the springs. I did see some other post about the wheel off-set and the potential of cutting down the body mounts. This is nice to know when talking with the guys who will be doing the work.
I will be taking the FJC...
Hello to all. For a brief moment I have transitioned from the FJ40 forum to the FJC forum. I have recently purchased a 2007 FJC for my oldest boy’s first ride. We test drove it over the weekend and I told him I was taking it back to the dealership because I just didn’t think it was the right...
Dave,
The green line measures 3 3/8"
The blue line measures 6 1/4"
Don't forget the bracket on the backside for the additional support of the tire and rack weight.
Dave, So sorry about the late reply. I haven't been on the site for a while (too busy enjoying the ride :)). I will measure tomorrow for you and post.
Thanks and cheers!

Just tried this and it worked! Went through the kick vent and hooked the keys that were in the ignition. Took approximately 10 min (most of that time was getting the coat hanger ready - actually used 2; had to tape together). As always, mud to the rescue. Off to order an extra key tomorrow...
I repainted the top white and also put in a new headliner. I am pleased with the white as it really "pops" out.
Thanks - WPS Mike!
Will do Josh - I have in-laws in Rogers.
I outsourced to a local body shop and was pleased with their attention to detail. This shop mostly does...
