Weird, for some reason (god know where I read it) I was under the impression they were an 80k mile service interval... of course I could be getting that confused with rover head gaskets... too many cars in my head!
Hey guys and gals,
This is COR's running list of parts that we are looking for:
40's:
Nothing As of Now, check back in a week
60's
Like New Steering Wheel
Good Condition Grille
Good Condition Front Turn Signal lenses and/or Assemblies
Good Condition Rear Tail Light lenses and/or Assemblies...
I love all these responses. I laughed so hard! That being said it could be the BBQ smoke, 5 margaritas, and 6 beers... it's snowing here so I ran the smoker in the garage.
Slow left, I love the idea of composite materials to make new frames. I am well aware of the extent of the CJ market...
Anyone come up with a solution for better view-lines on the 60-series? I can never really see over the hood quite properly to know where I am exactly. Maybe I'm just too short? I see much better when I wheel Land Rovers, I suspect it has something to do with seat height and the fact that Land...
You know what would settle this once and for all? A dyno. Build two trucks, similar set ups. Install dataloging equipment. Run them until we get an answer. Who's got access to one?
You want empirical evidence this is the best and surest way. We'll get a/f readings, power output, etc...
Seriously though get an obd2 scan tool, we invented on board diagnostic tools so we no longer have to consult the ouiji board of guessing what is wrong. :) There are some sweet ones out there that just pop into the port and connect via blue-tooth to a smart phone. Bullydog makes some, do does...
I don't have a retail front, but I do have a shop. 4 wheel parts charges the same that I do and they're a retail front plus install shop. They just don't claim to be cruiser specialists. My point was that when you claim a specialty your price goes up. Because people will pay for the focused guru...
Start with the fuel like they said, but usually (not always) ecus are grounded to the chassis and sometimes the ground connection goes bad. This happens in volvo and Hondas frequently. The bolts to the chassis are the connection between the ecu box and the grounding. Now I'm not super familiar...
I've actually been thinking a lot on this subject lately. I too love the tractory feel, when I'm off road. Which is mostly never. It does give it a certain character that you just can't beat. I call it the donkey factor. L/C's are like donkeys they aren't fast or elegant but they get the job...
they most definitely did make a vortec BBC, my grandpa had one is his truck.

What a great thread. It goes in line with my beleif that when you increase the rotating mass of the wheels and tires (plus whatever bumpers and loads) you need to enlarge the size of your brakes. Like ntsqd said, it's effectively a gigantic fly wheel that you are converting forward motion to...
slow left: That is a great little chart.
vsz, I would think that your exhaust sucking exhaust back in is not good.
Older engines require more frequent valve lash adjustment, follow the link above and check your clearances.
