I got some from Amazon. They initially sent two for the same side. Thankfully it was the one that was failing. It's been good since around Christmas. I'll replace the other when it goes south.
You want a titanium hardtail with slack-ish geometry. It will climb decently, descend well, be light enough not to piss you off, and do everything you want it to good enough to justify not buying another frame for a LONG time.
Lynskey, Litespeed, Turner (they make some sweet frames), Thomson...

Carbon hardtail for the oldest, 1x11 and he’s growing into it nicely.
Litespeed Tuscany, got the frame for $50 from a racer who bent the sh*t out of the derailleur hanger. Buddy at my LBS straightened it for free.

That's my thought. The only tricky part is mounting the "pivot clip" or whatever you call it in the roof, like in minivans etc. Like I said, I'm not throwing a bolt in sheet metal and sending it.
Yeah there's no way I'm going to put an anchor bolt in a random-ass piece of sheet metal. There are mount points rated for things like this, that's what would be used.
I really don't have time for it, but something I was thinking about lately. It *should* be doable, but exactly how is the...
