There should be a tab just to the right of "calendar" that is labled resources. Are you using a phone or a computer? If phone, maybe turn your phone sideways?
Good catch. I was turned around and following the wrong vacuum hose. For some reason last night I thought it was a hose coming off the vsv for evap but that is clearly wrong.
This photo might help. I think the vsv for evap is circled as number 2 and the hose you are looking to connect runs through circle number 3 but it is hard for me to tell from your photos.
Some would suggest replacing the harmonic balancer if doing the main crank seal - maybe also the chain, chain tensioner/guide but that is going a bit deeper and if you are that far, might as well re-bore and up size the pistions....so yeah, just do what @DivByZero suggested.
Did you try the link to the 93-94 manual posted under the resources section by @SmokingRocks? It looks like a great resource above and beyond the FSM. I did notice that the last update states the AC section needs to be updated to be for the 93/94 since it currently is for a 97. Maybe it has...
I am here to learn too. It looks kind of unevenly scored and shiny about 1cm from the I very top and maybe a little pitted lower down on the left side of the cylinder wall. I am not knowledgeable but that is what stands out to me.
Idler pulley is 29 ft lbf, the bolt for the magnetic clutch is 9 ft lbf., the 4 bolts that mount the compressor are 18 ft lbf. Discharge and suction hoses are 7 ft lbf. These are for a 96/97 but guessing they would be similar. I could be wrong -never owned a 94.
I am 6'3 and have been comfortable without changing out the seating or using brackets to extend the seats.
Haha, once you truly join the 80 crowd, paranoia after reading too many posts sets in and you will always be worried about overheating ;) Just install a something to keep an eye on temps...
It looks like the plastic cover for the spark plugs wires is missing. The oil on top could be spark plug tube seals that are leaking. These usually get replace when doing the valve cover gasket, so if you are planning on a valve cover seal job the leaking spark plug tube seals could be...
I only have anecdotal evidence but had a few more cracks with aftermarket glass. I was able to find an oem piece before they became unobtainable and it has been holding up well for the past r 4 or so years. There are some threads on here that discuss aftermarket glass options and discussion...
When I first bought my 80, I had an EGR code pop up about a year after I bought it with a smog check coming up. I had basic mechanical knowledge (righty tighty, lefty loosey) and very few tools. I didn't have time to learn the diagnostics side of the EGR (or so I thought at the time) and...
The EGR system in your vehicle is 30 years old. It isn't unexpected for a component like that to fail. Don't regret getting an 80 series if you are willing to work on it. I am guessing that you are fine doing some work if you owned a 1st gen tacoma. Download the factory service manual (FSM)...
Seems like it is working just fine. Why not wait to see how it behaves in the summer? Does the fan roar on startup? If not, then fan clutch mod would likely be reasonable to do before it gets too uncomfortable to work on outside. I'm not sure EGR bypass would lower coolant temps.
