    Leaving the PI

Well got it running but when I did the Okie Rebuild it popped an oil leak on the timing gear cover which I fixed ha ha! Found the PCV valve completely stopped up but replaced now. Problem is I have to run it almost full choke to the point that it burns my eyes with exhaust. I tweaked the card...

    Leaving the PI

6 am here now, I did get it running last night without having to keep my size 13 on the gas BUT it would only run at almost full choke and curb idle ran up. As soon as I pushed the choke in it died. Wrapped it up and came inside as it was dark and the mosquitoes was trying to carry me down the...

    Leaving the PI

JohnnyC I tried the WD-40 and not sure if it really made a difference. I finally got it to idle after resetting the points and cleaning the plugs but it will only idle at almost full choke and curd idle turned up. As soon as I push in the choke it dies. Almost sounds like the primaries in the...

    What tire pressure to use.

I run my 12.5 x 33's 30 psi here in the PI on the road just to keep a grip as they stay wet a lot. On the Expressway 32 psi. Off road 18-20 psi. A friend of mine has a troopy and he runs the same.

BTW. I just installed a new fuel filter and I am running an electric fuel pump as a mechanical is next to impossible to find here. But fuel delivery seems good. The is no strainer screen in the carb that could stop up but I really cannot see a jet of gas in the carb when I pump it by hand but I...

    floor mounted e brake in a 73 fj40

I mounted my e brake handle at the side of the driver's seat like in the waldo pic and used a 79 cable but mine still has the Xcase brake. Word of caution if you do this; Don't wear shorts lol! Everytime I exit the truck the cable adjuster grabs the left leg of my shorts and I have torn some...

    What am I doing WRONG?

X2 on the finer grit paper. I finished mine with 600 on the final sanding and it came out smoothe and glossy with rattle can paint.

    2f spark plug gap

My 2f is a 79 Non USA and has a points distributor in it. I set my gap at .028-.030 with good results. Starts first touch everytime. My points are set a .018 and I get about 4 kms per liter or 9.5 mpg with a 3 spd tranny and 33 x 12.5 tires. Philippine roads and traffic is not known for good...

1975 fj40 question - width in back seat area for bench?

Mine is a 74 and the same measurement. I used an LC Prado rear seat, forward facing, fold and tumble with seat belts and had 1" to spare on both sides.

Shipping a 40 from Asia to the U.S.?

Thanks for the input guys! Here is a couple of examples in what is available in the 40s. There are some really rusted out stuff as with any country if not taken care of but 40s are rare here and most have been brought back to life, some mixed and matched some done with great oem detail. Prices...
