A bit late to the party, But any chance I can find this FSM for the factory AC somewhere? I have a JDM BJ44 with the same setup and was hoping one day to get it back to life.. :)
I haven't heard from Dave yet, so I will ask myself this question in the meantime, happy to hear your thoughts:
My Findings:
- The bolts are no longer available from Toyota with the initial partnumber 90105-13002
- Also no new partnumber given that replaced the initial partnumber
- I can't find...
Thank you! However I'd like to be able to find them in the EU zone - so fast shipping / next day delivery - as its now taking up space in my local garage waiting to finish. :)
Hey all, long time no see!!! I'm bringing back my BJ44V back to life after a hibernation of 5 years.
She has a 1982 3B upgrade (from a donor BJ42) that was put in there a year before she went to sleep.
all running fine although the clutch made a squeecking sound when engaged.
so I have decided...
Hey emoto! Looking good!!!
Most universal seatbelt kits for european/japansese cars (metric bolts) will fit for the front. You should have the mounts as they were factory Installed on all 44's.
See my old blog post for the ones I bought, ( New seat belts ) i think they look goos and stock enough...
Ah wait i spoke to fast, LE11 seems to be quite common with FJ40's as I just read in another thread: Trim Code ... Post up what you have
Interesting thread anyways , much explained about the meaning of the trim codes
did you consider that a previous owner has bought a blank vin plate after a paintjob and had the information engraved, but made an error on the trim color? I'm saying this because I found a very similar plate of the same color 40, a BJ in this case, but with LK11 trim color. LE11 ... LK11, just...
Hi Emoto, the solution was waaay easier than expected. One of the philips lightbulbs had a problem. Swapping out for a new one fixed it.
I guess it was creating some short circuit and therefore it only did the highbeam, but also forced the bulb on the other side to do the same...
dont know why...
1981 diesel here, has same specs as all 40 series until 1984, for BJ40, BJ42, BJ44, BJ46. (although somewhere in 1982 the BJ42 and BJ46 got factory intermittent, so no use for your pretty tech solution here) Most probably the same as FJ's from that era.
Happy to do the test, will now go into...
Hi, No Sorry, they were instantly sold! You can find these every now and then on ebay for around 100 USD per kit. The softtop is the most common one. Safari edition was the hardest to get. Just search for ESCI BJ-44. I googled for you and I already found you the Safari edition hurray!! :) ...
Hi there,
I think i have a problem with wiring/ground/coontact in my bj44 - 24v
A few days ago I noticed other drivers warned me with their lights flashing that my headlights were too bright. After stopping the car, I discovered that my low beam (second position on the headlight knob) had...
You guys should start a crowd fund, so we can start donating :)
Looking at the overwhelming interest for this thread, that shouldn't be a problem to get going...
kickstarter.com or gofundme.com ?
Hi All, I have a 1981 BJ44 with factory AC installed, unfortunately the condenser has a leak which cannot be repaired. Therefore I am looking for an aftermarket 'plug & play' replacement ( in both in dimensions as its connectors.) Or with minor adjustments.
I assume that all Toyota LC Factory...
Hi there, thanks so much for posting these, very nice 45/47! Indeed its hard to see, at least from the pictures, that the fenders are not made of steel. For now I think I will probably go for the new OEM fenders route, which I sourced in the Netherlands and will cost me 430 euro for the set...
