What do you run for a cold tire pressure on the street for 35s?

i was usually loaded up with scrap in the back of the truck but i kept the tires at 65psi, when they started to wear more in the center of the tread i dropped it to 40. i was running load range e tires with 80 psi max

Serpentine belt swap - how far are you all going?

personally i would do just the belt. the only time that i ever changed the tensioner or idlers was when the pulleys started to make noise or they were rusty and crusty and i couldnt wire wheel them clean, they dont really go bad all that often

HDJ81 1HD-FT air intake heater terminal loose

i would get that tightened up or remove the grid heater, the 6.7 cummins have a similar issue and they can drop the bolt into the intake and destroy the motor. the lose connection will cause arcing making the problem worse over time

Caster out of spec after 2” lift

drive it and leave it as is for now, whats more important is having the cross caster close. .2 difference wont cause any pulling to one side or the other, you might get a little wander from having the caster out of spec on the lower end but its not that far off. if you dont like how it drives...

Welp, this sucks…. 2016 dash wiring harness melted!

that looks like a very easy job to just cut out the crusty wires and solder in a repair, at least thats what i would have done. but i will say that if the can bus wires are damaged they are not supposed to be repaired as per toyota and that would be the only reason that i would recommend a...

    When to Replace Radiator?

depending on your moles you may want to replace the rad hoses and clamps as well. if you go with aftermarket hoses the factory clamps may not fit as the outer diameter may be bigger, found that out when i had to replace the rad and hoses on the corolla

    1992 Hiace 4wd Firetruck

we have bigger brush trucks as well ranging in size from pickup to larger commercial chassis. and the pick ups usually have a skid mounted pump/tank combo with between 250-300 gal with the larger ones having an internal mounted tank. having the suction allows drafting water from a static source...

    When to Replace Radiator?

change it, all the plastic is the same age. just because the discoloration hasnt really shown on the tank dont mean that its still good, your only as strong as the weakest point

To PAIR or not to PAIR?

delete the pair system and be done with it, i had mine pulled when i swaped out the manifolds for 95-97 years and had other exhaust work done. if you dont want to move the o2 sensors get some 95-97 as they dont have the bung for the pair system and if you want to do a stealth egr delete you can...

Should the third member be dropped to replace the pinion seal on an 8.4” rear diff?

you can do it either way. you can replace the seal with the third in the axle but you have to be careful with making sure that you dont over torque the pinion nut causing excessive preload on the pinion. if there are other issues with the third i would pull it and take care of whatever issues...

turn this into personal auto shop?

drainage around the posts should be fairly good in the sandy soil but i would still dig out the posts a bit and try to back fill with rock to help with the drainage and add some stability to the ground very true, moisture will get in teh posts and will just stay there. you could pour the post...

turn this into personal auto shop?

i would be more concerned with structural loads with adding on to whats there and being able to withstand hurricane force winds. another consideration would be will insurance cover the lose of the building if it wasnt permitted and up to inspection, i dont think that they would. i could see...

turn this into personal auto shop?

looks pretty decent but my concern would be the condition of the posts below ground, theyll tend to rot out starting a few inches below the dirt line. i would also want to look at what it would take to be able to bring the building up to code for occupation and weigh the cost of potentially...

Help request for removing broken bolts_Rear bump stops

the left handed bits are good if the bolt isnt rusted in, going slow the bits will bite into the bolt and walk it out much like an extractor. if it dosnt walk out they come in a set with extractors and you can try to use the appropriate size for the bit that you used. im personally not a of...
